On the 1st December at 7:14pm, a load of people are going to turn up outside York Minster (at Constantine’s statue) to pray for an hour. You are invited to join in! Everyone is welcome.
Similar events will be happening simultaneously around the UK with thousands of people praying at the same time.
It is not front led, there is no one with a megaphone telling everyone what to do, people simply gather and pray. There are some suggested ideas but nothing is obligatory. It takes inspiration from 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from the wicked ways, the will I hear them from heaven, and will forgive their sins and will heal their land.”
This Sunday we will be kicking off a new series on Nehemiah. Josh Cockayne will be introducing the series looking at Nehemiah’s prayer as he started thinking about rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem.
This Sunday Luke Smith will be leading us as we look at the topic of Obedience…. another part of the simple life we’re called to as followers of Jesus!
